I love when my sessions take me fun places! Spent the day with Kait and Jon for their Engagement Session and it was so much fun! They are season ticket holders for the Detroit Red Wings so we were able to get into Little Caesar’s Arena for the first part of their session. After that we went to the Fire Station that Jon works at to take some portraits there. Jon and my husband actually have a little bromance and work for the same city!! Kait and Jon are dear friends of ours so it was truly a privilege to be asked to take their Engagement photos. I love how you can totally see their playful and silly side in the photos!

I had so much fun with these two tonight that I just had to come home and edit some of their images! We started off their Engagement Session at one of the Fire Stations in Detroit where Justyn works. This was my first time getting to shoot at one of the stations and it was awesome! My husband is a firefighter as well so it was fun to compare departments with Justyn and see how different Detroit is. Their stations have so much character! I cannot wait to show you guys the second part of their Session! Blog post coming soon! We carpooled to downtown Detroit for it and I swear it was just like hanging out with friends I have known for years. These two are adorable together and I cannot wait to see pictures of Devon as a beautiful bride! Congratulations you two!

Sometimes, as a photographer, I feel like I get in little creative ruts that discourage me. Sometimes my style seems inconsistent and ranges from borderline moody to brighter and bolder. I joined a wonderful Traveling Dress Series that allows me to rent beautiful dresses for a set period of time and it has been such a great decision. I look forward to each series and it gets my creative mind thinking again and again. This Mommy + Me Session just happened to fit right in with this Traveling Dress Series and I even was able to have another fellow photographer in front of my camera! The beautiful Kayla Townsend from Kayla Townsend Photography, go show her some love! I also had the pleasure of meeting her adorable kiddos who are just so happy and full of life and adventure!
